This initiative should be very useful for waste managers and HSEQ representatives at label production sites. The association dedicated to the recycling of labels CELAB-Europe has just published a map of liners and dies recyclers in Europe, which will be updated regularly.
"Liner and die waste" are by-products of the pressure sensitive or self-adhesive label industry âeuros¦ . These are valuable materials that must be returned to the production circuit, says Ophélie Gourdou, project coordinator for CELAB-Europe. With the support of internal and external industry professionals, CELAB-Europe has validated a number of solution providers for the collection and/or recycling of used non-stick liners and matrix materials in Europe."
At present, the federation, which includes 35 companies, has mainly listed paper liner recyclers on the map, but it indicates that in the future, as updates are made, it also wishes to present recyclers of other materials, such as PET liners and paper and film-based matrices.
The map is visible in the tab "Resource +" then "Interactive map" of the association's English website. In France, the location of the headquarters and the coordinates of six collection partners (Cycle4Green, Rafcycle, AD Circular, Soprema, Les Recylades, Paprec) and those of a circularity partner (Wepa Greenfield) are marked.
"The 'circularity partners' are the companies that recycle or reprocess the materials to return them to the economy, the 'collection partners' are the companies that collect these materials where they become waste to bring them to the 'circularity partners'" says Ophélie Gourdou.
