HP unveils Indigo 200K, its new press for flexible packaging

The HP Indigo 200K offers a 30 percent increase in print speed and 45 percent increase in productivity. This digital press pushes the break-even point by 50% compared to the HP Indigo 25K.

Two years after the launch of its first digital press dedicated to flexible packaging and labels, the HP Indigo 25K, HP unveils a new model for this industry, the HP Indigo 200K.

Based on the technology of the previous machine, which sold more than 300 copies, the new 762 mm wide digital press has a 30% increase in speed and 45% increase in productivity, and pushes the break-even point by 50%, compared to the HP Indigo 25K.

The HP Indigo 200K that prints up to 56 m/min "Dramatically increases productivity for small, durable, high-margin runs of digital flexible packaging, to be delivered in days, not weeks." hP says.

The HP Indigo 200K, multiple media in a larger format and higher productivity

Noam Zilbershtain, vice president and general manager of HP Indigo and Scitex, adds: "It also meets the growing demands of the label and shrink sleeve industries with higher productivity and a wider format."

This Indigo press handles all standard substrates, such as film (PET, BOPP, PE, BOPA), shrink film (PETG, PVC, OPS), labels (PE label), PET/ALU/PE multi-layer substrates and papers, from 10 to 400 microns thick with inline priming. And with its 7 color options, it reproduces up to 97% of Pantone colors.

The Indigo 200K uses HP Indigo's Liquid Electrophotographic Process (LEP), designed to print high ink coverage packages with white on most industrial substrates, both front and back.

Sirane Group, based in the UK, is one of the first beta customers of the press. Peter Ralten, director of business and commercial development, states: "At Sirane, we've been interested in digital printing for some time now and believe that's where the future lies. The HP Indigo 200K digital press, with its incredible productivity gains, opens up new business opportunities for us."
