This sale allows Agfa to focus on other growing market segments.

Announced last September, the divestiture of Agfa-Gevaert's Offset Solutions division is now finalized. As agreed, the Belgian group has sold its most important division to the European investment company Aurelius Group, for a value of 92 million Euros.

The division, with 1,700 employees, is one of the world's leading suppliers of prepress solutions for the offset printing industry with a range of plates, films, services, chemicals and software available in 75 countries. In fiscal year 2022, Agfa Offset Solutions achieved 779 million Euro in sales, which represents about 20 percent of the international market, says its new owner.

"The sale of our Offset Solutions division is an important step in our transformation." said Pascal Juéry, President and CEO of Agfa-Gevaert. " This transaction will allow Agfa to focus on other growing market segments."

Aurelius emphasizes that the company will have the same organizational structure and the same customer-facing sales and service teams.

Under the terms of the agreement, Agfa-Gevaert will continue to supply certain consumables (including film) and services to its former division.

Agfa-Gevaert now has three divisions: Radiology Solutions, which develops, manufactures and markets X-ray film, paper printers, X-ray equipment and image processing software for hospitals and radiology departments; HealthCare IT, which specializes in imaging data solutions; and Digital Print & Chemicals, the division dedicated to large-format inkjet printing and cutting and its consumables. In 2022, the group with the division dedicated to offset printing achieved sales of 1,857 million euros.
