Bobst acquires Italian robot manufacturer Dücker Robotics

With this acquisition, Bobst is banking on the fact that the entire production line will be connected and much more automated in the future.

Bobst announces that it has acquired 70% of the shares of the Italian manufacturer Dücker Robotics. This acquisition "is fully in line with Bobst's vision for the future of the packaging industry: a new reality in which the entire production line will be connected and much more automated." says the Swiss manufacturer of printing and converting equipment for labels and packaging.

Founded in 2005, Dücker Robotics, which until now was part of the German Dücker Group, is specialized in robotic loading and palletizing solutions for the corrugated board industry. The company, which employs 40 people, offers the Pal, Robofeed and Robotop product lines and has more than 350 robot systems installed to date. Its turnover amounts to 15 million euros.

Automation more important than ever, says Bobst

"As packaging converters face unprecedented demand from global demand growth, particularly in the e-commerce market, while having to manage staffing shortages, automation has never been more important to our customers." explains, in a press release, Jean-Pascal Bobst, the CEO of the group of the same name which employs more than 6000 people.
He continues: "Dücker Robotics has been recognized for 20 years as a leader in designing robotic systems for the most sophisticated converting machines, and we are really looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish together."

Together with the Italian company, the Swiss manufacturer intends to develop solutions and new approaches in corrugated board and also sees growth prospects in the folding carton market.

The current management team of Dücker Robotics will remain in place.
