Taittinger chooses a 100% European champagne box

This time, Taittinger called on French companies and the Italian Fedrigoni group to produce a single-material box that is entirely recyclable.

Keen to repatriate the manufacture of its gift boxes from China, Reims-based champagne house Taittinger called on Parisian packaging agency Makao, Burgundy gift box manufacturer Edmond and Italian group Fedrigoni to design and manufacture its new gift box featuring a bottle of Taittinger Brut Prestige champagne and two flutes.

Monomaterial, this top-of-the-range packaging is 100% paper, with no plastic or magnets. It consists of a base and a lid closed by a groove. A custom-made wedge holds the products in place. A card rider with hot foil stamping snaps onto the lid.

Two creative papers from Fedrigoni's Ispira range, one white, the other black, adorn the box. Made-to-measure for this project, these 245 g/m 2 are made from virgin fibres and offer a fit and feel that's second to none "make any lamination or laminating operation unnecessary" according to the Italian papermaker. They are laid by hand, without lamination.

The sustainability-conscious world of luxury goods is looking for ways to rethink packaging design. According to Fedrigoni, "this all-cardboard development is a model of circularity" and the group declares y "adhere to its global environmental approach" . This approach is reflected in its program Plastic to paper to offer more sustainable products.
