ABG passes the 2,500 sales mark for its Vectra rewinders

Production of this range of ABG rewinders will move to a new plant, still in Alngeterre, to increase production capacity.

UK finishing equipment manufacturer ABG has sold 2,500 Vectra turret rewinders since their launch in 1995. Over the past three years, sales of this equipment for self-adhesive label manufacturers have grown markedly, with the installation of no fewer than 500 of these rewinders.

ABG's servo-driven turret rewinders for daughter reels comprise two main models, each available in three web widths (330 mm, 430 mm and 530 mm): the entry-level ECTR for finished reels up to 500 mm in diameter, and the SGTR Autoset with fully automatic format changeover. And optional extras enable each rewinder to be adapted to the company's specific needs. These turret rewinders operate in-line or off-line.

David Ponthieu, Director of ABG France, points out that "the tension control of these rewinders is the best on the market, enabling them to handle virtually any type of product, whether perforated or delicate".

ABG's Vectra range, currently manufactured at the Middleton on the Wolds site in England, is due to move to a new 3,500 m 2 in Kelleythorpe, some ten kilometers from the group's headquarters in Bridlington.
The new site will significantly increase production capacity and reduce delivery times.

And by next summer, ABG will be launching a new generation of highly automated Vectra turret rewinders.
