RIP Onyx upgrades to version 24

The Onyx 24 RIP release introduces three major new features that should improve the efficiency of the print workflow.

Onyx Graphics, the U.S.-based provider of software solutions for large-format digital printing, will launch Onyx 24 at Fespa 2024, March 19-22 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Developed on the basis of customer feedback, version 24 of Onyx's large-format RIP features improvements such as automated multi-layer preparation for spot colors and effects, mobile spectrophotometer calibration and integrated color verification workflows.

Multilayer printing made easy. Onyx 24 will enable multi-layer printing thanks to the automatic generation of layers based on spot colors, varnish or other special printing effects. This feature streamlines the preparation of complex files by eliminating the manual separation of elements between layers, saving time while guaranteeing quality, says the publisher

The other major new feature is wireless support for Nix Spectro 2 and Spectro L spectrophotometers via Bluetooth.

Onyx 24 will also enable color accuracy verification. Users will be able to add a ColorCheck base sample to newly created profiles to check the accuracy of future prints.

Onyx Graphics will be at Fespa 2024, stand 5-J61.
