Clairefontaine Rhodia adds flocking to its competencies with the acquisition of Flock One

Clairefontaine Rhodia, known for its notebooks and notepads, acquires Flock One, a Berck-based flocking company, adding new technical, decorative and graphic skills to its portfolio.

Clairefontaine Rhodia, a subsidiary of French paper group Exacompta Clairefontaine, acquired 100% of the shares in Flock One on February 27.

Located in Berck, Pas-de-Calais, France, Flock One specializes in complete or partial flocking of various substrates. It produces technical applications for industries such as automotive, optics and textiles, decorative applications for walls, floors and ceilings, as well as packaging and graphic arts applications such as embossing, hot stamping, offset printing for folding cartons for luxury goods and perfumes, and embossable applications on rolls or sheets.
With sales of ?5 million, Flock One employs 20 people.

Clairefontaine Rhodia does not wish to divulge its plans for this strategic acquisition. However, Guillaume Nusse, CEO of Clairefontaine-Rhodia, tells us that no relocation of the Berck site is planned.

With a catalog of over 8,500 products for schools, offices, artists and teachers, including the famous Clairefontaine notebooks, Rhodia notepads and Maildor stickers, the French manufacturer also handles in-house the finishing of gift papers, tissue papers and a wide range of stationery and office accessories.

The latest balance sheet for paper producer and converter Exacompta Clairefontaine, which employs around 3,300 people in 50 companies, shows sales of 835 million euros for the year 2022.
