Paper manufacturer Saica continues to invest in its French sites. While the Saica Paper Champblain-Laveyron paper mill in the Drôme region of France is benefiting from a major 117 million euro modernization plan that will run until 2027, and in the summer, a plant in France will benefit from a new ChromaCUT X Pro rotary diecutter for corrugated board from K?nig & Bauer Celmacch the Spain-based group announces that a new Bobst Masterfold folder-gluer has been installed at the Lamirande site in Exideuil-sur-Vienne, Charente. This production line, the only one of its kind in France, has been producing various types of packaging for the e-commerce sector since March.
With this new equipment, equipped with all the options offered by the Swiss manufacturer, the Saica Pack Lamirande plant can offer the simplest packaging, such as envelopes or cartons, as well as the most elaborate packaging.
In addition to automatic bottom, 4-corner and 6-corner gluing, Bobst's Masterfold folder-gluer is capable of producing packs with adhesive strips and a tear-off strip, enabling rapid implementation for e-commerce banners and facilitating product return by the end consumer if necessary.
Strip deposits can be made to any length and in both directions, perpendicular and parallel to the flute, thanks to an in-line can rotation device.
With this investment, Saica offers "an expanded product offering with a high level of quality and increased production capacity thanks to its various functions for strip depositing, case turning and defect control" says Thierry Boisseau, Sales Director for Saica Pack's Centre region. "This machine will enable our plant to further expand our product range and production capacity for glued folded packaging."
