Drupa 2024: Koenig & Bauer unveils the MetJet One for metal printing

The MetJet One, the first digital printing press for metal decorating production, represents, according to Koenig & Bauer, the simplest and most flexible entry into the world of digital metal decorating. Production tests are scheduled for 2025 at American Reynolds Services.

At the recently opened Drupa 2024 trade fair in Düsseldorf, Germany, Koenig & Bauer unveiled the prototype of the MetJet One, its first digital printing press for metal decorating.

Presented as having a very attractive price/performance ratio and exceptional print quality, this machine allows you to "to enter the world of digitally printed metal packaging as easily as possible" says Samuel Teufel, Product Manager at Koenig & Bauer MetalPrint.

The MetJet One's modular design means that the entire production line can be customized to meet the specific requirements of customers in the metal packaging sector.

The MetJet One base consists of a MetJet One sheet handling system manufactured by subsidiary Koenig & Bauer MetalPrint, and multi-pass inkjet technology from its other subsidiary, Durst. This base can be equipped with the entire Koenig & Bauer MetalPrint range, such as the MetalCoat coating machine, the image inspection system and the sheet management systems.

The machine will start testing at the American steel and tin products distribution group Reynolds Services (RSI), in early 2025. John Frangakis, CEO of RSI, told Koenig & Bauer that with this new line, he hopes to produce personalized prints in very short runs.
