Koenig & Bauer announces the acquisition of a majority stake in GC Graphic Consult, a consulting firm based in Germany near Munich. Although not very visible outside German-speaking countries, GC Graphic Consult has been active in the graphics industry for over 55 years, specializing in the printing, print media and packaging sectors. The company supports commercial, industrial and specialized printers, principals, investors and suppliers in strategy, organization, executive search, mergers & acquisitions, process management and technology analysis.
Comprehensive, complementary solutions
This acquisition is in line with Koenig & Bauer's strategy of offering integrated solutions that go beyond machine supply. Already present in the sheetfed, web, inkjet, gravure and flexo printing segments, as well as in finishing and software solutions, the 5,500-employee group is now strengthening its service offering.
In a press release, Ralf Sammeck, member of the Group Management Board, believes that this alliance will make it possible to "offer our customers comprehensive, complementary solutions" . He also underlines the importance of guaranteeing the long-term expertise developed by GC Graphic Consult in the German-speaking industrial fabric.
Openness to international growth
GC Graphic Consult has remained independent since its foundation. It had been run for 25 years by Wolfgang and Peter Jeschke, who handed over operational management at the beginning of January 2025 to Oliver Cynamon. The team of around ten consultants will continue to operate under the GC Graphic Consult brand, with no change in structure or positioning announced.
For Wolfgang Jeschke, who remains involved in the governance of GC Graphic Consult, this operation opens up a new phase: "Belonging to the Koenig & Bauer group will enable GC to pursue its growth, including internationally" he said at the company's annual symposium, held at the end of March.
A code of conduct has been drawn up to maintain GC Graphic Consult's operational independence. This document specifies that any synergy between the two structures can only be implemented at the explicit request of the customer concerned.
