In a context where production lines have to adapt to variable volumes, short deadlines and an increasing diversity of formats, continuity between printing and finishing is becoming a key criterion. RISO offers a complete range of inline printing and finishing solutions to produce professional books and booklets in a single operation.
RISO's unique technology: cold inkjet printing
The use of this heatless inkjet technology, which RISO has been developing for over twenty years, offers several structural advantages.
It enables immediate printing, without preheating, and boasts low energy consumption - up to 91% 1 savings. At the same time, it remains reliable while limiting VOC, CO2 and ozone emissions.
The Plockmatic solution, stapled finishing for daily volumes
For printing educational materials, in-house documentation or technical brochures, stapling remains a fast and economical binding method.
The Plockmatic PL450e finishing module, combined with RISO's Valezus T1200 production printer, enables in-line production of booklets up to 200 pages. It integrates front-end folding, stapling (corner or two-point) and trimming operations, without interrupting the flow.
Perfect Binder for printing and finishing thicker documents
When it comes to producing higher-pagination training manuals, reports or catalogs, the Perfect Binder takes over. Designed to work in line with the ComColor GL series, the Perfect Binder automates the entire perfect binding process: printing, jogging, trimming, gluing and cover affixing. The system can produce booklets from 30 to 600 double-sided pages, up to 3 cm thick, and reaches an output of 62 A4 copies per hour 2 .
This all-in-one solution handles both blank and pre-printed covers. It comes with RISO software for generating documents from Word, Excel, PowerPoint or PDF files, making it easy to integrate into office environments or in-house reprographics departments.
L'Instant Book, the world's smallest print shop
The instant Book is the fruit of collaboration between RISO and the automation specialist R&D Technology.
This compact printing robot uses RISO technology and automates the entire chain from printing to binding. It is ideal for organizations wishing to produce books on demand, without the need for pre-stocking or cumbersome logistics. It enables reactive production by eliminating constraints linked to transport, storage or return of unsold copies.
The possible use of recycled paper is part of a logic of carbon footprint reduction. This book manufacturing solution is fully integrated into short-run flows, for use in bookshops, training centers or local service outlets.
Continuous production from page to finished booklet
Whether for inline printing of books and booklets, or one-off production via a stand-alone system such as the Instant Book, RISO solutions guarantee a constant flow, with no intermediate handling. All modules are based on tried-and-tested mechanics, with low jams, and operating stability adapted to both high output and short customized runs.
The coherence between RISO inkjet printers, feed systems and finishing modules is a lever of reliability for workshops looking for flexibility and energy efficiency.
