And that's three! Groupe Guillin has finalized the acquisition of the businesses of three French companies specializing in food packaging, Cartonnerie Moderne, Défi Imprimerie and Alpes Emballages, all headed by Vincent Rey.
A consolidated cardboard offer
The Ornans, Doubs-based group reports that these acquisitions, announced last March, will enable us to offer our customers "a unique, even more efficient ecosystem, capable of responding instantly to all customers' needs, whatever the material, uses and functionalities required, thus fully playing its role as the French leader in ready-to-serve beverages and snacking" .
The three sites in Saint-Cyprien (Loire) and Lardier-et-Valença (Hautes-Alpes) employ around 30 people and generated sales of around 13 million euros in 2024. They reinforce the expertise of the Wefold Blois and Wefold Tours sites, dedicated to paper and cardboard packaging.
Listed on Euronext Growt, Groupe Guillin is a major European player in food packaging, with consolidated net sales of ?869.7 million in 2024, a commercial presence in over 70 countries and more than 3,000 employees.
At this stage, the Group has not specified any investments for the technical integration of the new sites, nor any changes to their industrial organization.
Wefold, the group's new cardboard banner
This reinforcement comes against a backdrop of global restructuring of the Group's cartonboard business. At the beginning of 2025, Groupe Guillin had grouped together six of its companies specializing in paper-cardboard food packaging under a single brand: Wefold by Guillin. This new entity federates Wefold Tours, Blois, Troyes, St Victor, Mettet and Sibiu, around an integrated offering destined to become a market benchmark.
This project is accompanied by an investment plan of over 20 million euros, including new industrial equipment and a 35,000 m 2 located between the former Gault & Frémont and Thiolat sites. The integration of Cartonnerie Moderne, Défi Imprimerie and Alpes Emballages is part of a clearly defined strategy: to structure a complete, responsive and visible cardboard industry under a unified banner.
