Fespa strengthens its role with Fespa Future

Fespa launches Fespa Future, a strategic program to strengthen its action outside trade shows. The visual communications federation is focusing on innovation, training, youth, sustainability and support for its 37 member associations.

The Fespa federation, organizer of international trade shows for screen, large-format digital and textile printing, unveils a new strategy called Fespa Future. Presented by its Managing Director Neil Felton, this roadmap, expressed in a manifesto entitled Fespa Future, is intended to give lasting structure to the initiatives of the trade organization founded in 1962 outside its events.

Six ways to structure visual communication

The Fespa Future manifesto defines six priorities: support for national associations, innovation, educational programs, youth involvement, digital transformation and field projects. These priorities are based on the Profit for Purpose program, which has been in place for several years.

The federation is also announcing the creation of a foundation to finance local projects, particularly in emerging countries. Its purpose will be to organize community involvement and extend the educational initiatives launched through regional programs.

As part of this Fespa Future strategy, the international organization is collaborating with Keypoint Intelligence, a research firm specializing in printing markets, to produce reference content on emerging technologies and changing uses.

On the CSR front, the federation is highlighting its ISO 20121:2012 certification, dedicated to the sustainable management of events. It plans to extend this approach to other aspects of its activities, including educational initiatives and digital resources.

A vision for the next generation

For Neil Felton, five years after the Covid-19 pandemic "which has had a considerable impact on the Fespa community and on the world in general" it's time to move beyond the logic of recovery.

"These years have been a period of recovery and rebuilding, during which companies have sought to stabilize their business, regain sources of revenue and reinvigorate their operations. For many, it was a phase of 'survival mode', and for Fespa, a period focused on our global events business." He continues: "Five years on, we feel the time is right to mobilize our community around a renewed, positive vision, looking to a prosperous future."

Fespa Future is part of this approach. The manifesto details the resources committed to supporting professionals, drawing on skills development, associative resources and exclusive content.
