Labelexpo 2025: integrated printing and finishing from Domino and Grafotronic

Domino and Grafotronic chose Labelexpo Europe 2025 to present a hybrid label printing and finishing line. Their demonstration highlights the complete integration of digital printing, finishing and converting.

For this year's Labelexpo trade show, held in Barcelona from September 16 to 19, Domino Printing Sciences, the British subsidiary of the Brother Group specializing in variable data digital printing, is teaming up with Grafotronic, a Swedish supplier of modular finishing lines, to offer a hybrid configuration for real production.

A production line right down to the ready-to-use label reel

At the center of their stand, visitors can see a demonstration of a production line equipped with Domino's N730i inkjet engine and Grafotronic DCL2 converting and finishing solution.

The process begins with a corona treatment and web cleaning before flexo priming. Digital printing continues with a resolution of 1200 DPI and the option of in-line selective varnishes and coatings. The web is then cut, slit and rewound into two separate reels, ready for use.

Flexible modules for integrated production

For Morten Toksværd, Grafotronic's Development Director, this line is a fine example of cooperation: "Working with Domino, we can provide fully integrated solutions that help printers simplify their workflows, enabling them to improve turnaround times on short and medium runs, ready to meet the ever-changing demands of brand customers." He adds, "Our customers appreciate our flexible modular approach to hybrid printing."

In France, LP2i Étiquettes, based in Chassieu (Rhône), already operates a Domino-Grafotronic configuration. Its managing director, Patrice Neri, declares that the combination of the N730i motor with the Grafotronic "is the perfect solution" and its user-friendly interface.

Presented under the slogan "We are hybrids", this line will be on display at the Domino-Grafotronic Hybrid 3G85 from Labelexpo.
