A tweet that changes a bookseller's day

The English bookstore Petersfield, which specializes in antique publications, maps and used books, tweeteded its melancholy at not having sold a single book for the first time in 100 years, reports The Guardian .
Shortly afterwards, the bookseller received numerous orders from all over the world for 1?000 books, amounting to more than 1?100 euros.
Fantasy and science fiction author Neil Gaiman had retweeted the message to his millions of subscribers.

John Westwood, the owner of the bookstore, was stunned when Robert Sansom, his employee, explained the situation to him. "It amazes me. I don't understand social media because I'm old-fashioned, but when Rob called me and gave me the numbers, I was stupéfait?! "he explained to the Guardian.

China at war with single-use plastics

China, the world's largest producer and consumer of plastics, has announced measures to reduce single-use plastics.
Starting in 2021, the largest cities, including Beijing and Shanghai, will have to ban non-biodegradable plastic bags. And by 2022, this measure will affect the entire country. Only fresh produce markets will have until 2025 to phase out single-use plastic.
Plastic straws will be banned from restaurants in 2021. And hotels will no longer be allowed to offer combs or other plastic products free of charge after 2025.

Flint flexo division changes president

Ink manufacturer Flint Group has promoted Dagmar Schmidt to the position of president of its flexographic division. She replaces Ayan Moelker, who will leave the group at the end of January 2020.

Schmidt joined Flint Group via BASF in 2003. Prior to her last position as CTO, she led Flint Group's flexible packaging business as Managing Director and, prior to that, held various sales management positions as well as operational and supply chain roles at Flint Group.
