Canon unveils a complete solution for the production of customised wallpapers

The UVgel Wallpaper Factory produces printed rolls ready for shipment.

Canon launches on the French market the UVgel Wallpaper Factory for the automated and optimized production of personalized wallpapers.

Designed with large-format finishing machine manufacturer Fotoba, this digital solution is a modular system consisting of a Fotoba Jumbo Roll motorized media feeder placed in front of a Colorado large-format roll printer, a Fotoba XLD 170WP cutter and a REW 162 rewinder.

The UVgel Wallpaper Factory is thus a complete process that prints the roll, cuts it and rewinds it, making it ready for dispatch.

Christophe Gusman, Head of Production Printing at Canon France, explains : "This highly automated workflow enables our customers to produce wallpapers of exceptional quality in a shorter period of time and thus expand their product range."

This new range is aimed at printers already equipped with a Colorado large-format web printer, but also at new Canon customers. Moreover, the UVgel Wallpaper Factory solution can also be integrated into an existing workflow, giving printers the possibility to install infeed and outfeed systems from other manufacturers.

This system uses UVGel inks, which are odourless and certified Greenguard Gold by AgBB and ASTM Type II. These certifications guarantee that the printed material can be used without any health risk inside buildings.
And with FLXfinish technology, it is possible to achieve matt and glossy finishes on the print.

Christophe Gusman adds: "Our customers often tell us that UVgel technology opens up new growth opportunities for them in the interior decoration market . This is what led us to develop, together with Fotoba, the UVgel Wallpaper Factory system. (...) From the feedback we've had so far, we can say that this system is a game changer for professionals in high-volume digital wallpaper printing."
