The group is taking over the digital inks business of Sensient Technologies Corporation.

U.S. ink manufacturer Sun Chemical and its parent company DIC Corporation will acquire 100% of the shares of Sensient Imaging Technologies and certain other assets related to ink production. The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2020.

Sensient Imaging Technologies or Sensient Inks is a manufacturer of digital inks (from UV curing inks to water-based sublimation inks) and speciality dyes and chemicals used in the paper, food, pharmaceutical and textile industries. The company, based in Switzerland where it has a production plant, is part of the American Sensient Technologies Corporation, a leading manufacturer of food colours, flavours and fragrances.

This investment will allow Sun Chemical "to expand its capabilities and expertise in inkjet inkjet printing using complementary technologies." explains the future buyer in a press release.
