Fire in a printing house in Limoges (87)

The incident is not expected to have any impact on the business of the company specialising in the manufacture of envelopes, pouches and bags.

A fire broke out in the early evening of Tuesday 7 July in the premises of La Papeterie Moderne in Limoges (87). It was a minor fire which caused little damage and 4 people were slightly injured. It was caused by the explosion of an electrical transformer which resulted in significant smoke, indicates France 3 Nouvelle-Aquitaine . About 20 people and several vehicles were deployed to control the fire. Still according to the media, the incident should have no consequences on the company's activity.

Located in the northern industrial zone, La Papeterie Moderne de Limoges specialises in the manufacture of envelopes, pockets and bags. Created in 1967, the company started as a small shop in the city centre until the purchase of its first reel machine in the 1970s.

It was in the 1980s that La Papeterie Moderne de Limoges set up the Northern Industrial Zone of the city, where it is still located today. The company's customers include suppliers, national and international key accounts (banks, insurance companies), SMEs, administrations, routers, printers and graphic arts businesses.

Papeterie Moderne de Limoges belongs to the stationery manufacturer Pierre Monieque, which also owns other companies including the Clerc printing works (18) and Technic'enveloppes (87).
