These notebooks disappeared in a few hours at peine?! For the Halloween holidays, the Imprimerie Chauvat Bertau (ICB), located in Pontcarré in Seine-et-Marne, has published a limited series of small notebooks with Singer stitching that are terribly beautiful: on the cover, illustrated in full colour by Inès Benoteau, is hidden a second drawing that is only revealed under UV light. And for this effect, the printer used his own magic potion.
"We usually use this process to secure concert tickets and gift vouchers. And it's been a while since I wanted to do some fancy stuff with says Pierre Bertau, head of the company. But it's not strictly speaking invisible ink..."

He explains: "This print is actually made with a coating that we discovered by chance several years ago that it reacts to UV light. We have since diverted this clear varnish (which is very low gloss) to use it as invisible ink."

The cover, a textured paper, is printed in full colour on a digital press and then passed to a second digital machine for the application of invisible ink.
The printer emphasizes: "The choice of paper is decisive with invisible ink: UV light will react to the brightness of coated papers. Here we chose TinToreTTo offset paper from Fedrigoni."

The three notebooks in 20 copies each have an original illustration on the cover and a different colour of inner pages, a pale white paper, a night black paper and a pumpkin orange paper.
Presented on Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook, these 60-page notebooks were up and running in less than a day and were offered to the first people who requested them.
