A packaging made in Auvergne from advertising tarpaulins

Creating reusable packaging from advertising tarpaulins is the original idea of French startup Ecopack Solutions.

The very young company Ecopack Solutions, based in Saugues in the Haute-Loire, offers packaging made from upgraded advertising tarpaulins. The founder of the company, Clément Filere, started from the observation that advertising tarpaulins, which are omnipresent in our societies (outdoor advertising, events, etc.), have a limited lifespan while being impossible to recycle due to their composition (textile/plastic mix). Despite this, tarpaulins have many qualities such as waterproofing, strength and flexibility.

Packaging made in Auvergne

"?En starting from waste, we drastically reduce supply costs. This saving allows us to keep production in France while remaining concurrentiels?" explains Clément Filere.

The packaging is 100% made in Auvergne. Originally from a village in the Haute-Loire, Clément Filere has chosen to work with local players and in particular adapted companies.

Boomerang, a package that comes back

This new packaging is named "?Boomerang?". "?Comme the package that revient?" says Clément Filere. Unlike traditional services, Ecopack does not sell its packaging to companies but offers them a rental service. An eco-responsible delivery option allows consumers to return the packaging by simply dropping it in a mailbox (with a T label provided). The packages then return to the company to be cleaned, repaired and put back into the circuit.

"?La advertising tarpaulin is an ultra-resistant material that can be reused a hundred times. However, taking into account the rate of non-return, we expect 20 reuses.?» The first production of the packaging was tested in the summer of 2020, and marketing was launched in November 2020.

Collection of advertising tarpaulins

The creation of 4,000 packages requires the collection of approximately 3,000 m2 of tarpaulins. In order to set up a collection channel, the company turned to local authorities, companies and private individuals.
