Start of packaging production at Stora Enso's Oulu plant

The Finnish-Swedish paper group Stora Enso has completed the conversion of its coated paper mill in Oulu, Finland, into a Krafliner paper mill for packaging. Since mid-January, the mill has been in production and the newly converted machine is in the start-up phase.
This conversion, which began in May 2019, required an investment of 350 million euros. The packaging machine will ramp up during the first quarter and is expected to reach its planned production capacity by the end of this year.
The kraftliner produced, Stora Enso's AvantForte, has three layers of fibre, making it the strongest kraftliner in Stora Enso's portfolio.

Sales record for the cover of Tintin's Blue Lotus

On January 14, the cover of Tintin's Lotus Bleu (1936) by Hergé broke the sales record in the world of comics. "After a bidding war between three phones, this coveted masterpiece finally flew away at 3?175?400 euros" reported the French auction house Artcurial. The new owner, a "private collector." thus beats the record set in 2014 at 2.6 million euros (including costs) for the design of the cover pages of Tintin's albums.
Sold by the Casterman family, this cover in Indian ink, gouache and watercolour, with a black background, had finally not been edited because it was considered too detailed and complex for printing.
