A playful toy package, a laundry pump that avoids waste, a workstation bag: these are the 2021 winners of the National Packaging Council's Packaged 5.0 contest.

The National Packaging Council (NPC) has announced the winners of its 11th Packaging 5.0 contest. This student-only competition rewards the best product/packaging innovation that is relevant to the consumer and environmentally friendly.

The three innovative packaging winners are :

- the Cosmonaut designed by Léna Granet, Aline Schröder, Andréa Schmidt and Loris Combe of the IUT Chambéry

The Cosmonaut is a cardboard toy package. The students have optimized its shape to obtain a one-piece package requiring only one material. In addition, thanks to its window, the Cosmonaut "facilitates access to the toy intuitively, allowing the child to have the toy quickly in their hands".

- the Essential, drawn by Juliette Allemand, Emeline Neff and Léa Rousseau (with Ahmed Tara, pedagogical manager) of the IUT of Reims

The Essential is a refillable laundry detergent package with a dispenser pump. It consists of a plastic pouch and a secondary packaging made of moulded cellulose. The Essential "allows the right amount of detergent to be used and thus avoids consumer waste."

- nomadic PC Support, drawn by Quentin Ozanne, Théo Poterlot and Maxime Ribeiro (with Ahmed Tara in charge of pedagogy) of the IUT of Reims

The Nomadic PC Stand fulfils both the function of a transport bag for Notebook and accessories and the function of a nomadic and ergonomic workstation. It has been designed to meet the needs of teleworking, distance learning and other applications.
