Agfa announces that it will increase the prices of its offset plates. The increase will be between 5 and 10% and will be effective from April 1, 2021.
"Despite internal cost reductions, the magnitude of the price increase is no longer sustainable." says the Belgian manufacturer. "Soaring commodity prices - particularly for aluminum, energy and packaging materials - combined with sharply rising freight rates as well as global logistics make price increases inevitable."
However, the manufacturer emphasizes: "The price increase applied to our customers will be partially offset, as printers will benefit from higher aluminum prices when they recycle their used plates."
"Agfa's customers greatly appreciate our continued investment in prepress technology and related services - such as the cost-saving, green and additional convenience-generating ECO³ program - which translates into substantial economic benefits in their print shop."
Agfa's sales teams will soon communicate the details of these new prices to their customers and remain at their disposal for any questions.
