Postcards to tell the secrets of confinement

A London stationery design store Marby & Elm Store distributes blank, stamped postcards to customers, reveals France Télévisions. They are thus invited to write on this card their secrets of confinement, and to return it anonymously to the store.

300 people have already confided their secrets. Eleanor Tattersfield, the stationery store owner and designer, notes that the confessions often involve food - bizarre eating habits - and hygiene - such as not washing your hair or growing leg hair. Bigger secrets were also shared: "My 18-year-old son came out as gay during lockdown," one customer confided.

An exhibition of the postcards is planned.
It is possible to request a card by email or to print it via the Marby & Elm Store website.

Gender pay gap soon to be a thing of the past at UPM

The Finnish paper group UPM announces that it will "closing the unexplained gender pay gap" that it employs. This pay gap remedy will be applied to all entities of the group, which employs 18,000 people worldwide.

"Although UPM's salaries and wages are mostly equal, there appears to be an unexplained gender pay gap. (...) This gap is difficult to close, even if an individual receives normal salary increases over the course of their career. With this review, the gap will be corrected." says Riitta Savonlahti, Executive Vice President of Human Resources.

A new Arctic Paper mill certified Cradle to Cradle

Paper manufacturer Arctic Paper achieves Cradle to Cradle Certified (silver level) for all coated papers produced by the Arctic Paper Grycksbo mill (G-Print, G-Smooth, G-Snow, Arctic Silk, Arctic Matt, Arctic Volume White and Arctic Volume Ice).

Composed of five levels - basic, bronze, silver, gold, platinum, this circular economy certification is obtained after evaluating the production according to five criteria: health safety of the materials used, reuse of materials, energy consumption, water management and social responsibility.

The group, which operates three paper mills, was the first to certify a Cradle to Cradle paper mill, with the certification last year of the Swedish site Arctic Paper Munkedals .

A petition against uncompensated public tenders

Supported by 31 professional organizations, the actors of the arts, design, communication and event industry are launching a petition to oppose free creations and uncompensated public tenders.

These practices are estimated to erode margins by nearly 20%. "Imagine that in each of our activities, one day of work per week goes up in smoke (tender not won). The situation is not new: for 20 years, all professional organizations have been campaigning in vain on this issue."

The signatories of the petition ask for the modification of the public order code to finally put an end to non-indemned tenders.
