Lecta obtains SBTi validation for its emissions reduction targets

The Science Based Targets (SBTi) initiative has validated Lecta's greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction targets for 2030. These ambitious commitments are in line with the 1.5°C global warming limit set by the Paris Agreement.

Lecta is aiming for an overall 40% reduction in Tier 1, 2 and 3 emissions by 2030, with 2021 as the base year. The company is committed to reporting publicly on its progress, guaranteeing transparency and accountability.

The paper and board industry's skills challenge

On December 10, 2024, the 1st edition of the Matinale des Paperteams was held in Paris. The event brought together over one hundred players from the paper and board industry to discuss the need to renew 40% of the technical workforce by 2030. The industry is mobilizing to ensure its long-term viability, with a focus on training, the attractiveness of professions and the pooling of regional efforts through Paperteams. With 1,500 companies and 63,500 employees, this essential sector is banking on the circular economy and an ambitious employment-training policy.

Esko sells its print inspection business to Porat Itay Holdings

Esko, a global player in software and hardware solutions for the packaging industry, has announced the sale of its print inspection business, Advanced Vision Technology (AVT), to Israeli company Porat Itay Holdings. The transaction, which includes AVT's assets, contracts, teams and intellectual property, is expected to be finalized in the first quarter of 2025, subject to local legal conditions. AVT will retain its brand identity and product portfolio under the leadership of Roy Porat, former President of AVT.

Ghent-based printer Graphius Group expands into the Netherlands with the acquisition of NPN Printers

The Graphius Group, based in Ghent and headed by Philippe Geers, has announced the acquisition of NPN Printers, a Breda-based Dutch company specializing in high-end printing. Founded in 1928, Graphius continues its European expansion by adding this Dutch production to its portfolio, already present in Belgium, France, the UK and North America.

Hinojosa Packaging Group awarded third EcoVadis Gold Medal for its commitment to sustainability

Hinojosa Packaging Group has been awarded the EcoVadis Gold Medal for the third year running, achieving a record score of 78 out of 100, placing the company in the top 3% of companies rated for sustainability. Since its first certification in 2020, Hinojosa has continued to strengthen its positive impact on the environment.

Union between Cavin and Imprimerie Baudat in Switzerland

The union between Cavin and Imprimerie Baudat has given rise to Cavin Baudat, an entity combining traditional printing and digital solutions. The aim of this merger is to perpetuate local activities, in particular the publication of the Feuille d'Avis de la Vallée de Joux, while offering a broader range of services through the new Cavin Baudat Creative Agency. Run by four managers, this structure strengthens its local roots while establishing itself as a major player in global communications in French-speaking Switzerland.
