The Blaze, the entry-level digital textile printer from EFI

Although the total cost of ownership is "competitive," this compact machine prints at 600 x 1200 dpi and reaches speeds of 125 linear meters per hour.

At the ITMA Asia textile trade show held June 12-16 in Shanghai, China, EFI unveiled the Blaze compact direct-to-textile printer.

This 1.8 meter long entry-level digital printer is designed for businesses "who wish to enter the industrial textile digital printing market" said Adele Genoni, senior vice president and general manager of EFI Reggiani, EFI's textile subsidiary.

EFI has worked on the reliability of its printheads and the reduction of maintenance costs in order to offer a textile machine with a total cost of ownership "competitive".

With eight 300 dpi dual channel print heads, the Blaze digital printer can print 125 linear meters per hour. This high speed makes it "one of the fastest digital inkjet solutions in its class" announces EFI Reggiani. The machine prints at a resolution of up to 600 x 1200 dpi and up to 8 colors.

The printer also includes a number of productivity-boosting features, such as a 400 mm roll unwinder, a washing unit and a device for applying thermoplastic or permanent adhesives.

This launch is the first of many product launches this year for EFI. Very soon the manufacturer will present another inkjet printer with a higher volume.
