Fujifilm enters the flexible packaging market with the Jet Press FP790

To meet the growth of the packaging sector and the new market requirements, particularly in terms of print runs and deadlines.

Fujifilm Graphic Systems has announced its entry into the flexible packaging market with the new Jet Press FP 790 water-based digital inkjet press, responding to the global growth in the packaging market, specifically flexible packaging.

"Digital printing for flexible packaging is becoming increasingly necessary as it addresses a number of market and consumer requirements that can only be met with a high-end digital production asset. Increased demand for shorter, more strategic print runs, faster delivery times, strong brand competition for storage space, much shorter product life cycles, and a more environmentally friendly printing process are driving this expected huge growth." explains the Japanese manufacturer.

Technical specifications of the Jet Press FP790

With the ability to work on media up to 790 mm wide, a print speed of up to 50 meters per minute, and a resolution of 1200x1200 dpi, the Jet Press FP790 inkjet press combines high productivity with short and medium runs.

It is equipped with inkjet heads and uses water-based inks, which meet or exceed the regulatory requirements for flexible packaging printing (food compatibility).

The Jet Press FP790 will be launched in the North American market in the fall of 2021, before gradually reaching Europe and other parts of the world.
