Since September 27, the Paris RER C line has been decorated with immersive trompe-l'oeil borrowed from works of art in the capital's various museums. An event that marks the reopening of some of these places following a renovation program started in 2015.

Dufy in the metro

The result of a partnership between the city of Paris, Transilien SNCF, Paris Musées and Île-de-France Mobilités, the 4 trains of the Paris Museums Train on the RER C line plunge passengers into the heart of the artistic masterpieces of Parisian museums. This ultra-resistant adhesive covering extends from floor to ceiling and reproduces, for example, the decor of the salons of the Carnavalet Museum, incorporating reproductions of great masters:

  • Modigliani ;
  • Dufy;
  • Delaunay;
  • several sculptures of the Petit Palais.

A meticulous work conducive to emotions

The installation of this high quality plastic lamination was carried out by the SNCF teams at the Ardoines Technicentre over 600 hours of work, i.e. the intervention of 7 specialized agents over 10 days. The creation and printing of the different strips were produced by the agency Mediakeys .

Specialized in global advertising campaigns and well established internationally on 3 continents, the group relies on 25 years of experience to enhance the brand image of major accounts and " focus on the customer experience "through its communications. To achieve such a result, 2 years of study and research were necessary to finalize the project.

The hashtag #CPasLoinEnTrain was created to complete this marketing operation which aims above all to promote the various Parisian cultural places.

An anti-vandal impact

Running between Paris and the Yvelines, the RER C line has the advantage of serving a large number of the city's museums while transporting more than 50,000 tourists each day.

This surprising arrangement is reminiscent of the decoration of the "Palais de Versailles" trains, which have been operating on the RER C line since 2012. It would even force respect This is the case, judging by the few traces of damage present on the walls. « We see far fewer acts of malice or damage on coated trains. Simply because beauty inspires respect "Nicolas Ligner, director of RER C, is delighted.
