The ER-641, Roland DG's new low-cost eco-solvent printer

The ER-641 from Roland DG

Roland DG's new DGXpress printer, the ER-641, has been designed to offer increased productivity for a low investment.

Roland DG launches the ER-641 eco-solvent inkjet printer. The ER-641 is a 64" wide CMYK plotter, "low investment", for outdoor and indoor signage, vehicle wraps and adhesives.

"By adopting our latest technology platform with rigorously standardized parts and reducing the required functionality, we have created a product that offers a perfect balance between productivity and profitability." says Tony Miller, President of Roland DG's Global Sales and Marketing Division.

This large-format printer, part of the DGXpress range launched in 2023, features a larger printhead than the other three DGXpress models, producing finer ink droplets of higher density. The eco-solvent ink machine also features new high-speed data control technology.

Up to 43 m 2 /h for banner printing

The ER-641 reaches speeds of 25.5 m 2 /h in 900 x 600 dpi mode for printing on PVC and 43.5 m 2 /h in 600 x 1200 dpi mode for banner printing.

The manufacturer has equipped the inkjet printer with a number of productivity-enhancing features, such as a setting that automatically collects the media as it is inserted for easier, more precise loading, a take-up unit that ensures precise media rewinding, and a sheet cutter that separates the media along the perforations between print jobs.

Caps, wipers, wiper cleaners and other components around the printhead can now be replaced by the operator, rather than by a service technician.
