The V12, the press of the future for labels according to HP

This new press can print up to 12 colors at 60 m/min.

HP is preparing a new machine for the label industry. The V12 press features a new printing system with up to 12 inks compared to seven on current Indigo presses.

During the Unfea congress held on October 14 and 15 in Nice, Sébastien Rocfort, HP's labels and packaging sales manager, presented us this press.

"This is an evolving Indigo technology. Previous machines have a single print engine, a single photosensitive plate to which the ink is transferred and then deposited on the print cylinder, and up to seven ink channels are possible." he recalls.

He continues: "The V12 is equipped with six plates and 12 printing stations, two per plate. The machine does not transfer the ink on a cylindrical blanket, but on a five meters long belt. This technology extends the gamut and increases the speed, which in 1 to 6 colors reaches 120 m/min and from 6 to 12 colors 60 m/min."

With its 12 colors, the V12 can reproduce 97% of Pantone colors.

The V12 has another notable difference. The engraving is not done by laser - that would take too much time - but by a led writing head.

The V12, the press of the future for the label according to HP, could be presented in demonstration at the Labelexpo show which will take place from April 26 to 29, 2022, in Brussels in Belgium.
