Finat's creative label contest winners announced

The participants had to imagine labels and packaging for products for seniors. Among the 118 projects, the packaging and labels of Sabrina Bento from Portugal and Bjarne Castelein from Belgium stood out.

Finat, the European label industry association, has announced the two winners of its label design competition called #LABELicious. Launched in 2019, the competition challenges students and young professionals in the label and packaging industry across Europe.

While the 2020/2021 edition of #LABELicious was disrupted by the anti-covid-19 measures and the announcement of the winners delayed by several months, the organizer noted "enthusiastic participation" of students supported by "motivated and energetic teachers" . 118 creations were submitted.

For this second edition, participants had to create packaging and labels for Genergise, a fictitious range of three products (drinks, skin care and vitamin supplements) for senior consumers. The winners of this second edition are Sabrina Bento from Portugal and Bjarne Castelein from Belgium.

The design drawn by the winner is a "solid foundation that can be applied to a wide range of materials, packaging forms and product line extensions."

Bjarne Castelein, for his part, has "excelled in its pure design qualities" . Its creation was distinguished by both "the power of simplicity and a youthful approach for a senior audience" . Brand identity "radiates Genergise brand energy, including the intelligent interplay of Generation + Energise brand elements" .

And in parallel, Finat is launching the next edition of the #LABELicious competition. Registration is open from December 1, 2021 to March 30, 2022.
