Each year, Shutterstock analyzes millions of images uploaded worldwide from its platform. Thanks to this study, the American photo sales site determines the three colors that should be trendy for the coming year in digital media and shares them in its Color Trends report.
For the year 2022, the key word for choosing a color should be serenity. "The data shows that designers are turning to calmer hues and moving away from intense tones. This soft peachy pastel blends well with other pastels and especially with dusty yellows and pinks which will bring a touch of "nostalgic" to your work.

Velvet purple (#800080)
Unlike other more garish purples, the Velvet Violet shade discreetly draws the eye with its magnetism. It is capable of turning heads but "without excessive flamboyance" .
Its natural complement is a contrasting shade of green, like emerald. A fairly dark purple, it can also serve as a base for flashy electric neon type designs.
Peaceful Rose (#DB7093)
Peaceful pink will eclipse its bright counterpart. This hue evokes the image of a faded flower pressed between the pages of an old book.
It can be combined with other shades of pink and peach or with a light blue to evoke the setting sun on a Pacific beach.
