Epson has launched a new SureColor printer series with a new design, ergonomics and technical features. The series includes two compact 44-inch (111 cm) dual-roll machines: the SC-T7700D intended for technical markets and retailers who need to print point-of-sale (POS) signs that accurately reproduce the colors of the logos, and the SC-P8500D for photo printing and the production of high volume and large format posters.
Its more linear design allows the machine to be placed against a wall, in a corner or back-to-back with another machine and to use its flat top as an additional work surface. Consumables are more easily accessible. These two printers are also more compact with a thickness of 500 mm against 700 for the preceding range (the series SC-T7200D).
B0 posters are printed in 46 seconds, A1 CAD drawings in 16.
On both SureColor plotters, roll loading is automatic and is combined with automatic media tipping between rolls. A stacker can be added, allowing prints to be stacked up to two full rolls.
Secure printing on these machines is guaranteed thanks to various new IT features. "Government and public sector organizations with employees based in different locations will also benefit from the high-level security features."
The SureColor SC-T7700D uses the 6-color ink kit, UltraChrome XD3, which includes two blacks and a new red ink, for more vibrant colors.
"The SC-T7700D offers a fully integrated printing solution with productive printing, intelligent features and ease of use, all combined with the highest standards of document security." underlines Elisabeth Vilar-Bothin, Industrial and Graphic Arts Market Manager at Epson France.
The SC-P8500D uses the UltraChrome Pro6 6-color ink set consisting of traditional CMYK plus matte and photo black and a new gray ink for smooth gradations and reduced grain effect.
