The Vutek M3h is one of the mid-range models in the hybrid led printer series from American manufacturer Efi. Unveiled two years ago, this large-format press now benefits from three new modules and a software add-on designed to extend the functionalities of this 3.2-meter-wide machine.
The first development involves the addition of lateral holding guides, known as Media Edge Guides (MEG). This mechanical device is designed to improve the stability of rigid materials with irregularities, such as corrugated board sheets or composite substrates that are not perfectly flat.
The second new feature is the Dual Split Shaft Unwinder/Winder version of the winding and unwinding system. This option enables two rolls to be loaded simultaneously.
Another new feature is the introduction of a transparent ink compatible with simultaneous white printing. Usable in full or selective mode, this varnish enables the creation of glossy or textured effects directly in line with the other colors.
Efi specifies that this ink can also be integrated into a new multi-layer printing mode, now extended to nine layers. The function is activated via a software update and enables color, white and transparent layers to be linked in a single pass.
