After taking over in January the Dutch company Rietveld specialized in textile finishing avery Dennison has announced the acquisition of Switzerland-based TexTrace, a subsidiary of Jakob Müller Holding. TexTrace specializes in RFID for apparel. The U.S. manufacturer of labeling and functional materials will retain the entire workforce of the Frick, Switzerland-based company.
Founded in 2010, TexTrace has developed technology that integrates RFID directly into garments. Tags with embedded RFID are simultaneously a solution for brand protection, theft protection, product availability monitoring, consumer interaction and self-service payment. in the future, RFID could offer information about product suppliers and materials and thus provide insight into the garment's true carbon footprint, according to the two companies.

The innovative woven and knitted RFID products that TexTrace has developed will add significant value to the apparel and retail industry using traditional RFID.
