Technical revolution at Isra Printing with the installation of the AlphaJet from MGI

The Isra company will optimize its complex production flow with this MGI digital printing plant 4.0.

Isra is a manufacturer and printer of intelligent commercial media, based in Romans, France. With its 90 employees, the company works for the packaging market, cards with or without chips dedicated to retail, transport, authentication and access control.
In particular, the printer has created the first-ever zero plastic card, which can be equipped with a magnetic stripe or a contactless chip (RFID, NFC). Named ISBIO, this paper innovation launched in 2018 has gained acceptance among several luxury brands and principals.

Continuing its innovation-driven development strategy, Isra has signed a unique order: the printing plant will receive the first AlphaJet 4.0 plant from French manufacturer MGI Digital Technology in April.

MGI's AlphaJet is the first machine that integrates in a single pass and with an entirely digital flow, all the stages of printing and finishing: four-color printing, UV selective varnish application and hot foil stamping, in fixed or variable data, in 2D or 3D, in a B1 format (72 x 110 cm)

MGI's AlphaJet, to simplify the production flow

Edmond Abergel, CEO of MGI Digital Technology, states: "During our first exchanges with Isra's teams, we were surprised by the very strong innovation DNA that carried the company's dynamics, and by its implementation by a team of experts in conventional technologies, very different from each other: offset, digital, screen printing, hot foil stamping, printed electronicseuros At the end of a process of extensive tests and trials, it was these experts who validated the acquisition of the AlphaJet. It is a great source of pride for us that experts from conventional trades have validated the 100% digital factory 4.0 concept that is the AlphaJet."

Jean-Pierre Chauvin, Director General of ISRA, confirms: "Isra is a very specific company, with in-house expertise in all areas of printing, including offset printing, screen printing, digital printing, hot foil stamping, printed electronics and security printing. (euros) The AlphaJet will allow us to simplify the production flow and free us from certain printing constraints, without breaking loads, without waste and without loss of time, with an unequalled productivity, impossible to obtain with conventional equipment.

A technical revolution for Isra

The arrival of the AlphaJet marks a technical revolution for Isra, according to Christophe Jouinot, president and production manager: "The AlphaJet will allow us to gain in reactivity, but also in quality, because of an exceptional four-color printing on a great number of supports, in photo quality, and a perfect register of the varnish and the hot stamping. Freed from various production breaks, we will be able to offer very short production times, on all types of prints, with eco-responsible products with high added value."

Eco-responsible production with high added value

Indeed, the carbon footprint of products printed on AlphaJet will be lower thanks to a reduction in waste and consumption of solvents and electricity. In addition, the de-inkability of the inks and the MGI varnish that do not hinder the recyclability of the media are additional assets in terms of eco-responsibility.

And Isra intends to exploit the multiple possibilities of the AlphaJet to address new markets, including smart packaging and printed electronics.
