With the Kornit Atlas MAX Poly printer, new creative possibilities open up for polyester

Featuring seven ink channels, two of which are fluorescent, and XDi technology, the Kornit Atlas MAX Poly can produce bright, 3D decorative graphics on dark polyester and polyester blend fabrics, according to Kornit Digital.

Kornit Digital introduces the Kornit Atlas MAX Poly high-volume inkjet system. Aimed at the sportswear, professional team and leisurewear markets, this direct-to-garment (DTG) printing solution enables digital decoration with vibrant color graphics on polyester, polyester blend, cotton and Lycra garments.

The Atlas MAX Poly printer from Kornit is equipped with seven ink channels: CMYK plus two fluorescent plus white. Its manufacturer describes it as the "the only system capable of printing photorealistic, semi-darkened images on dark clothing".

"The Kornit Atlas MAX Poly will simply change the game, says Omer Kulka, marketing director at Kornit Digital. With the convergence of fashion and sportswear, new opportunities are opening up for innovative fashion on polyester, currently the fastest growing vertical segment in the textile industry. Sportswear, leisurewear and promotional apparel can for the first time embrace bright and colorful patterns with the proven Kornit MAX euros technology setting superior quality standards for on-demand production that was not previously possible."

With XDi technology, the Atlas MAX Poly also performs 3D decorative applications, such as embroidery, heat transfer, vinyl and screen printing effects.

The Kornit Atlas MAX Poly has been tested and approved at four customer beta sites worldwide. It is expected to be commercially available in the second quarter of 2022.
