Heidelberg targets growth in sales and profits

Despite great uncertainty, Heidelberg expects sales of 2.3 billion euros in 2021/22.

Despite significant increases in the costs of materials, energy, logistics and personnel, Heidelberg is entering the fiscal year 2022/23 "confident" and with "cautious optimism". The German printing press manufacturer expects further growth in this period from April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023.

"In the past fiscal year, Heidelberg further strengthened its resilience by significantly improving its sales and earnings." says Heidelberg CEO Ludwin Monz.
With sales of 2.183 billion euros, the German group has seen its sales for the year 2021/22 increase of approximately 14% over the previous year. Its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) margin also increased, reaching 7.3% (compared to 5.0% in the previous year).

The executive continues: "Financially, the Group is in the best position it has been in a long time. For fiscal year 2022/23 as well, we expect to build on this, on successful growth initiatives focused on core markets and our digital business models, and on our success in e-mobility.

We are optimistic that we will be able to counteract very difficult situations, including very large price increases. We will monitor market developments very closely so that we can take the necessary measures.

As things stand, we expect to achieve a further increase in sales to approximately 2.3 billion euros and, thanks mainly to operational improvements, an increase in the eBITDA margin of at least 8 ."
