The Gallus One, the fully digital label press from the Swiss manufacturer

Gallus One

With this "one-of-a-kind solution", Gallus aims to bring about the next big technological revolution in the label industry.

The Swiss-based manufacturer of traditional and hybrid printing machines is launching its first fully digital label press, the Gallus One. Developed in conjunction with Heidelberg, the UV roll-to-roll inkjet press is designed to provide printers with a particularly low total cost of ownership (TCO).

"With the launch of the Gallus One, we're not just bringing a new press to market - we're offering a unique solution capable of sparking the next big revolution in the label industry." says Dario Urbinati, Sales and Service Manager of the Gallus Group.

Based on the Gallus Labelmaster platform, the Gallus One features extensive automation and cloud technologies for remote configuration, performance monitoring and standardization of presses and production sites. It has a production speed of up to 70 meters per minute on a 340 mm web width.

The Gallus One - a complete solution, not just a press

A complete solution for roll-to-roll printing of digital labels is also available. "Offering all the familiar benefits of a Labelmaster press, the Gallus One presents itself as a complete solution, not just a stand-alone printer." emphasizes Dario Urbinati.

The new Gallus One ecosystem includes, among other things, a new set of inks specially formulated by Heidelberg for the press's Fuji Dimatix printheads as well as a predictive monitoring service to minimize downtime. The press also integrates with the cloud-based workflow software, Heidelberg Prinect.

"The symbiosis of all these elements significantly increases the efficiency and productivity of the press, with the prospect of opening up new markets" he says.

Frank Schaum, Gallus' CEO, continues: "The Gallus One is an important addition to our portfolio. It offers customers the unique opportunity to pioneer a new category of label services complementing the current offering and opening up opportunities for growth and differentiation."
