HP Launches HP PageWide Advantage 2200 Web Press

The HP PageWide Advantage 2200 Scalable Press, which reaches 152 m/min in color, is designed to produce many applications.

HP digital press manufacturer unveils new printing machine "revolutionary" the HP PageWide Advantage 2200 series, available next month. The PageWide Advantage 2200 has the particularity to be scalable, to have a large production capacity while managing a wide range of media.

From publishing, commercial printing to direct mail

Featuring native 2400-nozzle-per-inch printheads and HP Ink Brilliant inks, the HP PageWide Advantage 2200 is designed to meet the demands of publishing, direct mail and commercial printing applications. "This press offers superior quality to meet a wide range of higher-value applications, from more colorful, high-ink commercial and educational books to direct mail pieces that differentiate customers in the marketplace." indicates the manufacturer in its presentation.

The PageWide Advantage 2200 handles a wide range of media from 203 to 558 mm in width and from 40 to 300 g/m 2 these include glossy, satin and matte offset coatings and uncoated and inkjet-treated substrates.

This duplex inkjet rotary press is remarkably productive, reaching speeds of up to 152 m/min in color and 244 m/min in monochrome and printing up to 85 million A4 images per month.

The HP PageWide Advantage 2200 press features the High Efficiency Drying (HED) system, which minimizes energy consumption by recirculating up to 80% of heated air during the drying process.

An evolving rotary press that installs quickly

The press is also scalable: its configuration can be changed after installation to suit the needs of the printing company. Customers can choose one, two or three drying modules as well as cooling modules.

HP also worked on its overall design. With a single engine, the HP PageWide Advantage 2200, which measures 6.24 x 17.60 x 2.59 m, has fewer parts. This means the new PageWide requires less maintenance and service time.
