Canon Colorado 1650 UVgel ink certified by 3M MCS

The quality of vehicle wraps or posters printed on a Colorado 1650 is now guaranteed.

The Canon Colorado 1650 printer and its UVgel 460 ink are now part of the 3M MCS warranty program. This means that the Colorado 1650 with UVgel 460 ink is guaranteed to print well on 3M media. Applications covered by this program include vehicle wraps, signage, billboards and floor graphics.

The 3M MCS program "offers a comprehensive warranty for the expected life of the âeuros printed media including protection against fading, cracking, peeling, blistering, fading and many other aspects of graphic performance." says Canon.

To ensure this, the 64-inch printer and its UVgel 460 inks passed a series of extensive tests. For example, the printed media was tested for weather resistance.

Jennifer Kolloczek, senior director of high-volume print planning, marketing and innovation at Canon in Europe, adds: "UVgel technology is revolutionizing large format graphic arts production and other applications. By obtaining the 3M MCS guarantee, we have taken another step in our long-term strategy to continue the adoption of this unique printing technology."

Canon's UVgel technology delivers matte, glossy and even both in a single pass and reproduces a wide range of colors while being lightfast with fast drying times and a low-temperature, odor-free printing process. UVgel inks are also compatible for indoor use.
