This investment is part of the group's strategy to be CO2 neutral by 2040.

Belgian media group Roularta Media Group (RMG) is installing new drying ovens on three Manroland magazine offset presses to reduce CO2 emissions and energy consumption. With this investment of EUR 4.5 million, the group's printing plant, Roularta Printing in Roeselare, is expected to reduce its CO2 emissions by 14%, its gas consumption by 25% and its electricity consumption by 5%.

"This investment is in line with our sustainability policy, which focuses on four United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including responsible production and consumption (SDG 12) and climate action (SDG 13)." in a post on social networks, the group of 1300 employees said. (The other axes of sustainable development are quality education and decent work and economic growth)
And RMG recalls that it is committed to becoming CO2 neutral by 2040.

The printing company, which has six Manroland presses, has already recently changed the drying oven on its newest press. It estimates that it has saved 40% in electricity and halved its gas consumption on this offset press.
In addition, 1,138 330 peak watt solar panels have covered the roof of the production facilities since 2019.

Roularta Printing, which has been printing newspapers and magazines since 1954, is Belgium's largest offset printing company. It has the particularity of being equipped only with offset dryer presses. "In fact, this technique gives significantly better printing results compared to rotary coldset and allows for large volumes to be produced in a short period of time, without compromising on color intensity and print quality." explains the printer on its website.
