Fujfilm's first inkjet press for flexible packaging, the Jet Press FP790, is compatible with solvent-free laminating films from German manufacturer Henkel Adhesive Technologies.
During the development of the digital press, which is scheduled to be launched later this year, the two companies jointly conducted post-press tests on Henkel's lamination films to ensure their compatibility with the water-based ink of the Jet Press FP790 and to verify their adhesion properties and lamination performance.
Manuel Schrutt, packaging manager for Fujifilm Graphic Communications EMEA, states: "Working with a globally renowned brand like Henkel, having access to its market-leading laminating films and the support of its technical team has enabled us to undertake thorough post-press testing on the flexible packaging produced by the Jet Press FP790. As a result, future users of our new digital packaging solution will know that by choosing Henkel's solvent-free lamination films, press compatibility, optimal adhesion strength and lamination properties will be guaranteed for a wide range of flexible packaging applications."
With a high-quality image reproduction of 1,200 x 1,200 dpi, the 790 mm wide Jet Press FP790 reproduces more than 90 percent of the Pantone color gamut. This new inkjet solution, along with examples of Henkel's laminating films, will be on display at the Fujifilm booth at Interpack 2023, which runs from May 4 to 10 in Düsseldorf, Germany.
