Jet Press FP790: Fujifilm partners with Hybrid Software

The Jet Press FP790, Fujifilm's inkjet press for packaging, incorporates the first workflow solution developed by a software company.

Fujifilm is unveiling new information about its first flexible packaging press, the Jet Press FP790 inkjet press, which will be released later this year. This printing machine will feature a Digital Front End (DFE) workflow, developed specifically by UK software company Hybrid Software for this press. This is the first such solution developed by a software company for the packaging market, Fujifilm points out.

The Hybrid Software user interface brings fully automated prepress capabilities to the Jet Press FP790, which Fujifilm says will ensure faster turnaround times, optimized productivity and reduced operating costs.
Its modular configuration would also allow for upstream expansion and customization to meet the specific needs of each printer.

Maximize productivity and obtain the best quality

"This solution will maximize production efficiency and achieve the best possible quality to meet the growing demands of the flexible packaging market, now and in the future." says Manuel Schrutt, packaging manager for Fujifilm Graphic System.

Mike Agness, executive vice president for the Americas region at Hybrid Software, adds: "By combining our extensive knowledge and understanding of RIP workflows for packaging printing with Fujifilm's expertise in color management and print production, we were able to develop the innovative technologies that are at the heart of the new Jet Press FP790."

The Jet Press FP790, a water-based inkjet press, was designed "to produce the highest quality results in a wide range of flexible packaging applications while meeting industry regulatory requirements." . Capable of reproducing over 90% of the Pantone color gamut, the inkjet press has two white ink channels dedicated to high white opacity prints and offers an image resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi.

Fujifilm, along with its partner Hybrid Software, will be showcasing the Jet Press FP790 at Interpack 2023 in Düsseldorf, Germany from May 4-10.
