With these two acquisitions, the Belgian family-owned group Graphius strengthens its position in the packaging sector.

Graphius continues to grow its packaging division. On April 25, the ?126 million printing group finalized the acquisition of Rembrandt Verpakking and Remmicom Packaging, based in Aarschot, Belgium, both previously headed by Carl Michiels.

With Rembrandt - focused on the production of folding cartons, sleeves, blister cards and clips for the food, chocolate and brewery sectors - and Remmicom - which focuses on cardboard packaging for the luxury bakery sector, this operation expands the group's offer in packaging, which until now has been provided by its entities Lowyck, dedicated to folding carton and located in Ostend, and Etiglia, specialized in labels and located in Beersel.

To offer a "total solution" from labels to cases, boxes and folding cartons

Denis Geers, CEO of Graphius, states: "The partnership with Rembrandt Verpakking and Remmicom Packaging marks an important step for our company and is part of the group's diversification strategy. (...) It allows us to offer a global solution to our customers, from labels and clips to cases, boxes or folding cartons."

Rembrandt Verpakking and Remmicom Packaging, under the leadership of Dirk Roosen who was the Chief Operating Officer of both companies, will continue to operate as separate entities, and will benefit from the economies of scale of the group.

Based in Ghent, Belgium, Graphius is active in four printing sectors: books, catalogs and magazines, packaging and labels, corporate printing and comics. It now has eight production sites (located in Belgium, France - with PPO Graphic in Paris - and the United Kingdom) and employs over 600 people. With these two acquisitions, its turnover increases by approximately 10 million Euros.

The strategy of the group led by the third generation of the founder, the brothers Denis (CEO) and Philippe (CFO) Geers, consists of "further consolidate the company through a strategy of acquisition considered, including internationally".
