The Buhrs Group is now under the aegis of Dutch investment company R2G.

Dutch manufacturer of packaging solutions for magazines and direct mail Buhrs is changing hands. Through its subsidiary Inno Packtech, R2G has acquired the group from owner Dick Verheij, who has headed the company since 2017.

For the Netherlands-based investment company, founded in 2022, the acquisition of Buhrs is in line with R2G's strategy. Herco Koeling, Managing Director of Inno Packtech and the new head of Buhrs, explains in a press release: " R2G focuses on supporting the growth, innovation and continuity of successful Dutch companies with a proven track record. Buhrs, founded in 1908, is a good example. Buhrs has become an international company specializing in the development and production of packaging solutions. In all modesty, Buhrs can be considered a world market leader. Buhrs systems are in operation on every continent. We see this as a wonderful opportunity to further develop this fine Dutch company together with the employees."

Buhrs, which celebrates its 116th anniversary this year, was originally a ship repair shop and forge. Today, the company is a leading manufacturer of mail and magazine processing solutions. With a presence in over 40 countries, the group has its own production, research and development facilities for polyethylene and paper envelope and folding systems.
