For Antalis, this acquisition means entry into the North American market, with additional development potential in Canada, Mexico and the United States.

Antalis, the French subsidiary of the Japanese KPP Group, is looking to expand its presence in the North American packaging market. Already present in Latin America, the 3,800-employee distributor of paper, packaging and visual communication media has acquired Canadian Lovepac.

Comprising two entities located in Quebec and another in Mexico, Lovepac designs and manufactures industrial protective packaging such as corrugated cartons, dunnage, wooden crates and pallets, for a variety of sectors. The group generates sales of C$14.7 million (?10.1 million) with 73 employees.

After Gosuma in Spain a few months ago, Antalis signs its second external growth of the year in packaging in 2023. And last year, the French company also acquired the BB Pack group in Germany also in the packaging sector, and the Cohal group in Spain.

Hervé Poncin, CEO of Antalis, said: "The acquisition of Lovepac is a great opportunity for Antalis to enter the North American market with additional development potential in Canada, Mexico and the United States. As a leading packaging distributor, Antalis, a member of the KPP Group, aims to strengthen its global presence in order to offer the best products and services to its customers."
