Eco3 enters the flexo market with a complete prepress offering

Agfa's former offset solutions division enters the label market with a portfolio of software, equipment and consumables.

Eco3, the former offset prepress division of Agfa (Agfa Offset Solutions), enters the world of flexo printing, initially offering its new solutions for the label sector. The group acquired by investment company Aurelius last April has designed a complete prepress system for flexo printing, comprising Amfortis and Magis ranges, from file design to printing plates.

Eco3 has adapted its dedicated Amfortis offset packaging production workflow for flexo. Based in the cloud, Amfortis covers all flexo prepress production tasks.

The group also offers Magis F 830 insulation and laminating films, Magis P-Eco aqueous flexo plates and Magis P solvent plates.

Eco3's new offering also includes two lamination tables (Magis Laminator), the Magis Pro-Eco 400 flexo plate washing and mounting system, five Magis DI plate and cliché platesetters, Magis Pro and Magis Pro-Eco processors, and EDLF waterborne units that expose, wash, dry and varnish the plate.

Although the Eco3 portfolio is a complete set of prepress solutions for flexo, the system remains compatible with other brands.

Guy Desmet, Eco3's Marketing Director, emphasizes: "The total cost of ownership of our open system will be particularly attractive to label printers considering bringing prepress in-house, rather than having to rely on external service providers."

Frederik Dehing, Eco3 Sales Manager, explains: "Although our company has a global reach with direct sales, service and applications managers in over 30 countries, we will initially focus on Europe and Latin America. Our main focus is the label segment, but our ambition is to grow in this industry, both geographically and in terms of applications."
