Adhesive label manufacturers now have the opportunity to see the Gallus One hybrid in operation. Due for release in June 2023, the customizable version of the Gallus One has been installed at the manufacturer's demonstration center in Switzerland since the beginning of the year.
A hybrid version of the Gallus One 4-color plus opaque white all-digital press, this model offers customized configuration of printing units upstream and downstream of digital printing. "It was a market demand. Our existing flexo customers wanted to have the same manufacturer for the digital and conventional module, and generally speaking, small hybrid configurations are very popular in the market." explains Marie-Audrey Crumbach, Gallus Sales Manager for the French market.
An automated self-adhesive label press "competitive price"
The Gallus One, developed with German manufacturer Heidelberg, has been designed to combine a high degree of automation with low total cost of ownership (TCO). "The Gallus One is a 100% digital or hybrid modular inkjet machine, which beyond its printing performance, is offered to the market at a competitive price".
The 340 mm wide machine features automatic ultrasonic cleaning of the inkjet nozzles, a Heidelberg-patented technology that virtually eliminates ink loss during this maintenance step.
The Gallus One, which reaches 70 m/min, works with an ink formulated by the Heidelberg lab. It is designed to ensure brilliant colors, greater stability and greater reliability, and benefits from rapid delivery thanks to various production centers.

According to Marie-Audrey Crumbach, the Vision System camera is another of the machine's strong points. This system monitors quality, regardless of printing speed or substrate. It automatically compensates for missing nozzles and density variations.
The Gallus One, a versatile press
Today, around ten Gallus One models have been sold worldwide, of which just over half are hybrids.
Gallus One's customers come from all sectors, including cosmetics, food and industry, as well as the spirits market, which uses less traditional label materials than red wine and its structured supports, such as rosé and beer.
Discover the Gallus Experience Center in Switzerland
"The arrival of the Gallus One hybrid at the Gallus Experience Center was eagerly awaited. And since its installation, we've been very busy showing this machine in action."
Adhesive label manufacturer Stratus Packaging, in particular, has already made the trip to St. Gallen in Switzerland.
He was able to observe the machine in operation, configured with a flexo extension, cutting and weeding after digital printing.
At Drupa 2024, to be held in Düsseldorf, Germany, from May 28 to June 7, the Swiss manufacturer and Heideleberg subsidiary will be unveiling new features on this machine.
